5 things to try when your computer stops working
1) Stay calm: Again, that is the first, and most important, thing.
2) Document the evidence: Gather all necessary documents such as receipts, support documents, telephone numbers, and names if possible. All of these are of utmost importance if you have an IT department.
3) Call after-sales or support: Have a piece of paper and a pen ready to take notes.
4) Take notes: Record everything that might be useful, such as the last time you used the computer successfully, any attempts you have made to restart the computer, any burning smell etc.
5) Ask questions: Whether you can get a replacement computer until your computer is repaired. Make sure that the data on your computer remains untouched. Demand a deadline as to when your computer will be sent back to you.
